Our wedding cake from Cakes of Curiosity was an absolute showstopper and a true work of art at our wedding at King’s Chapel in Old Amersham.
From the outset, it was clear that we were working with a genuine expert. The design process felt thoughtful, creative, and completely bespoke, resulting in a cake that was both strikingly modern and beautifully elegant.
The finished cake was extraordinary. Each tier was distinct yet perfectly balanced, creating a dramatic and sophisticated vertical design. The geometric white base tier gave a clean, architectural foundation, topped by a sleek black tier and a marbled grey tier that added depth and texture. The crowning gold cylinder tier brought a sense of luxury and theatre, tying the whole design together effortlessly.
The handcrafted floral detailing was simply stunning. Soft ivory roses cascaded down the cake, intertwined with delicate gold leaves, creating movement and elegance without overwhelming the design. It complemented the setting of King’s Chapel perfectly and became a real focal point for our guests, many of whom stopped to admire it before we even cut the cake.
As beautiful as it looked, the cake tasted even better. We chose chocolate orange, red velvet, and carrot, and each flavour was exceptional. Every tier was moist, rich, and perfectly balanced. Our guests are still talking about it, with several commenting that it was genuinely better than cakes they’ve enjoyed at the Savoy. That level of praise speaks volumes.
