One of my favourite parts of what I do is hearing from my customers after they have seen their cake. The joy and excitement that comes through in their messages mean the world to me and truly fuel my passion for cake design. Wow—where do we even begin?
We booked Cakes of Curiosity for our wedding cake after meeting Melanie at a Wedding Fair as we knew there would be no one better for our special day and Melanie proved us right in every possible way.
Every single tier looked absolutely stunning and tasted even better than we could have imagined. Melanie even perfectly catered to our gluten free guest by creating him his own mini cake which tasted just as amazing as the main event!
She made the whole process feel so special and the time, care and attention to detail Melanie puts into her work is unmatched—we and all our guests were blown away that the cake was handmade. Each sugar flower and decoration was impeccably made, so perfectly delicate but so realistic looking!
What stood out even more was Melanie’s professionalism and support in the lead-up to the wedding. From our initial consultation and answering all our questions, to helping us decide on flavours and designing a cake that tied in perfectly with our theme — she went above and beyond to make everything stress-free.
Choosing Melanie as our cake maker was without a doubt one of the very best decisions we made for the entire wedding.
We feel so blessed to have found her talent and we’re beyond grateful for everything she did to make our day so beautiful (and delicious!).

The cake Melanie made for our wedding back in June was absolutely perfect. She really took the time to listen to what we wanted and offered thoughtful suggestions to help bring our ideas to life while keeping everything within budget. Her communication and attention to detail made the whole process enjoyable, and she matched our colour scheme perfectly.
We chose sugar flowers for decoration, and we’re so glad we did – they looked absolutely incredible. Melanie has such a talent for making them look so realistic, and it’s lovely to have them as a keepsake from the day. The beautiful wooden initials on top were the perfect finishing touch, and of course, the cake tasted amazing! We couldn’t have been happier and would recommend Melanie to anyone planning their wedding.

After tasting some samples at a wedding fair my husband was obsessed. And he was absolutely right, our wedding cake was one of the most talked about parts of our big day!
Not only are Melanie’s cakes delicious, she took the time to ensure all our dietary requirements were catered for and helped us design our perfect cake.

I chose Melanie to make my wedding cake, based upon the recommendation of a good friend who had tried one of her cakes at a wedding he was the photographer at.
I met with Melanie for a consultation initially several months before the day to discuss the design I would like for my cake, including colour and details on the icing, flower themes as well as flavours.
She gave me a beautiful cake box to take away with five of her most popular cake flavours - raspberry and white chocolate, lemon, carrot cake, chocolate and red velvet. Each one delicious! It helped me decide on the flavours I wanted for the day.
I chose white chocolate and raspberry, lemon and red velvet for a 3 tier cake to feed around 90 guests.
I wanted a light pink and white themed cake in line with my wedding colour scheme and peonies and roses I had. The cake was beautifully created and exactly what I had wanted. It made a real statement in the room during the wedding reception and topped off the day when it came to cutting the cake in the evening.
The guests enjoyed the flavours including my husband and I. Baking is a hobby I am passionate about and appreciate well made cakes, to which cakes of curiosity delivered exceptionally well with.
I would highly recommend Melanie for designing and creating your dream wedding cake. She was professional, accommodating and delivered the perfect cake.
